OnePlus 7 Pro will make sure you don’t miss notifications

By Tech Online Things

OnePlus’s approach to teasing the OnePlus 7 range has involved revealing a lot of details ahead of the full announcement, set for May 14, and the latest revelation is that the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a better vibration motor than previous phones in the range.

That might sound like a small thing, but it’s seemingly something that’s been an issue for a lot of OnePlus users, as evidenced by a fairly lengthy Reddit thread, with talk of weak vibrations leading to missed notifications, as well some finding the vibrations inconsistent.

By the sounds of things these issues won’t plague the OnePlus 7 Pro, as speaking to CNET, the company’s CEO Pete Lau said: “Our goal with the OnePlus 7 Pro was to create the best phone possible in not just the premium tier, but the ultrapremium tier. We really aimed to making the haptic experience excellent.”

More power, more consistency, more control

More specifically, the motor is larger and 200% more powerful than its predecessor, an upgrade which apparently required OnePlus to rethink the internal design of the phone, so it could fit the motor in without making the handset thicker.

Vibrations should also be more consistent, with Lau adding that: “At the same time, we had to ensure that the haptic motor was in the right position so that the haptics would be strong, yet even across the device.”

And if you don’t like the idea of super-charged vibrations then not to worry, as you’ll be able to choose between light, medium and strong intensity, with separate toggles for calls and notifications. On top of which there’s also apparently the option to choose between six different vibration patterns.

This news follows on the heels of OnePlus confirming that the OnePlus 7 Pro will have an HDR10+ screen and a triple-lens camera, and that it won’t have a notch or bezel. Hopefully there will still be some surprises on May 14, but with that date fast approaching we’ll know soon.
